Praise them and thank them for their service to our country.
Anyone have the right CB wording?

Thanks

a D104 mic will make it sound very “tinny”, or pinched up.
Not a good mic for the 980ssb.

Comment on CB Radio Frequency Chart, Range & Freebanding by Clint W. https://myradiolab.com/cb-radio-frequency-chart-and-channels/#comment-2907 Sun, 29 Dec 2019 17:03:44 +0000 https://myradiolab.com/?p=326#comment-2907 I need to add one thing to my comments. The FCC uses the latest technology for radio direction finding. If they are actively looking for you, SDR receivers, computers and the internet will put an ‘X’ on top of you on Google maps in a heartbeat. If you just have to branch out into illegality, keep your signal clean, don’t deliberately interfere with anything, play nice, and the door knock or letter in the mail will not be in your future.

Comment on How to Build a CB Base Antenna by Clint W. https://myradiolab.com/how-to-build-a-cb-base-antenna/#comment-2905 Sun, 29 Dec 2019 16:29:09 +0000 https://myradiolab.com/?p=310#comment-2905 When it comes to liars, commercial antenna companies are great at it. They will swear there’s is the best, and come up with all kinds of numbers to prove it. When you spend 100-200 bucks on an omni-directional antenna, you will continually convince yourself the money was well spent. In the 1/4 wave vertical vs the 5/8 wave, the latter has some improvement on keeping a lower angle of radiation for working mobiles and it puts a bit more power on the horizon for skip, but this 1/4 wave ground plane when it comes to omni-directional, is the classic CB antenna, and when properly installed and fed, will work just as good as a high dollar whatever. Back in the 60’s, I had a $9.95 Lafayette ground plane at 40 feet, and it held its own against the very popular ‘Super Mag’. While I don’t have that in one piece anymore, I still use a basic groundplane and nothing else. This is a great construction article and you will be surprised and happy with the results. Only caveat is using the PVC vertical support, in some places, the hot summer sun may turn it into a ‘U’ shaped antenna instead of a vertical, but if you put a eyebolt in the top and hung it from a tree, that would fix that.

Comment on Best CB Amplifier Reviews by Dark Dude https://myradiolab.com/best-cb-amplifier-reviews/#comment-2463 Fri, 04 Oct 2019 07:24:32 +0000 https://myradiolab.com/?p=244#comment-2463 Well there Joe you average non American Non Truck driver who English is at best a second language who works at the factory where these amps are made. If you want to sell a few more in the US I have a few ideas..The amps you sell being MOSFET amplifiers you should take advantage of the fact that they will put out more power at higher voltages. A DC to DC converter would be an excellent added value add-on allowing power output more in line with what your customers expect. I can’t believe you don’t sell 28 volt base amps. Either that or you are going to have to use a lot more semiconductors in you amps.
Your marketing is not macho enough either.
